everything you need to get you started…

Most people think I am a little unusual, why on earth would anyone get up at 4.45am to go running, especially if you don’t have to.

You see, it’s a Saturday morning, we have gone away for a nice relaxing weekend, so it’s a perfect opportunity for a well deserved sleep in, Right?

Not for me, I can’t wait to get up early and go running.

As you can see in this video, it’s 4.45am, I’m only half awake, it’s cold and dark outside, not to mention all the wild animals running around, and yet for me I absolutely love it.

Every time we go away on holidays, I always take a good supply of running gear.

If you are mid way through your 5K training plan and you are heading off on a holiday, don’t forget your running gear.

The message from this video is simple, if your going away, stay on track with your training.

Here are just a few helpful tips to help you stay on track with your training the next time you go away on your holidays:

  • Work out which days you plan to go running before you leave
  • Make sure you take enough gear that will last you until you get time to do some washing
  • If you can, pack your good running shoes seperately, only get them out when you go running
  • Don’t forget your water bottles, sports watch, sun hat and whatever else you use when your training
  • See your time away as good time to get some exercise in with all the family
  • Be prepared, know where you are going to run, how far you are going to run, and the best time of day to run
  • Make it enjoyable, try something new and exciting
  • Take your camera or your iPhone and grab some shots of the local scenery

Last but not least, relax and enjoy…
